Baseball Recap: Yazoo City Comes Up Short

Yazoo City lost against Canton back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians came up short against the Tigers, falling 17-7. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anthony Ingram Jr. was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Yazoo City: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jamarion Edwards, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Yazoo City's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Canton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

While Yazoo City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
