After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New London, the East Lyme Vikings were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 70-57 victory over Norwich Free Academy. With that victory, East Lyme brought their scoring average up to 58.5 points per game.
Among those leading the charge was Jaylen Hannans, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Timpano, who scored 18 points.
Norwich Free Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Graham, who scored 14 points. Armanee Davis was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The victory got East Lyme back to even at 1-1. As for Norwich Free Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Lyme will challenge Ledyard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Norwich Free Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Norwich Free Academy in their respective states (Lincoln is ranked eighth in Rhode Island, while Norwich Free Academy is ranked 117th in Connecticut).
