Basketball Recap: Redding Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Redding Christian duked it out with Foothill on Saturday. The Lions walked away with a 63-54 victory over the Cougars. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Defeat or not, Foothill got some senior leadership from Matthew Poulsen and Caiden Cochran. Poulsen shot 64% from the field to rack up 26 points, while Cochran dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. The game was Poulsen's third in a row with at least 16 points. Wyatt Forward was another key player, putting up five points and ten rebounds.

Redding Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Foothill, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-9.

Coming up, Redding Christian will venture away from home to square off against Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Redding Christian will be up against Live Oak's rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.45 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Foothill, they will host Chico at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
