The North Central Hurricanes posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 84-49 win over False River. Given North Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while False River is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
False River lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jacob Baker, who scored 21 points. That was a full 42.9% of False River's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Graffeo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
North Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for False River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-16.
North Central will look to defend their home court on Friday against Westminster Academy. False River on the road again on Friday and play against Mt. Hermon at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
