The Austintown-Fitch Falcons pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell  69-58 to Cathedral Prep. Austintown-Fitch lost against Cathedral Prep in their previous head to head  back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the  37-17 score last time.
 Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Marcel Finkley, who  scored 18 points along with three  steals. Finkley continues to roll, besting  his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Deshawn Vaughn, who  scored ten points along with five  assists.
 Austintown-Fitch's defeat  ended a three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 5-2. As for Cathedral Prep, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5.
 Austintown-Fitch will finish  2023 at home by hosting South Range at 7:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Cathedral Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 7:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
