They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the L.C. Bird Skyhawks. This was payback for the Monarchs, who suffered a 9-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Nick Vaughan and Tre Turner were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Vaughan tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Turner struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. At the plate, Vaughan scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Turner scored two runs and stole Three bases.
