Even though the Madill Wildcats have not done well against the Byng Pirates recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Madill escaped with a win against Byng by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Madill.
Ethan Wilkerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Wilkerson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jd Runyan, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Madill's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Byng, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Madill will head out on the road to face off against Kingston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kingston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Madill is ranked 36th). As for Byng, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sulphur at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
