The Windthorst Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Electra Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Windthorst has four straight victories, Electra has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Windthorst can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 54-22 victory over Seymour. Windthorst pushed the score to 38-16 by the end of the third, a deficit Seymour had little chance of recovering from.
Windthorst got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brock Belcher out in front who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kolby Teakell, who gained 149 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Electra came up short against Haskell on Friday and fell 34-24.
Windthorst's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.5 points per game. As for Electra, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Windthorst against Electra when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 49-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windthorst since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
