It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lafayette Christian Cougars had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top against the LIONS by a score of 45-36. Winning may never get old, but Lafayette Christian sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
It was another big night for Carmen Bridges, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lafayette Christian's points. Reagan Bryant was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three blocks.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leah McLaurin, who scored 12 points along with two steals. McLaurin hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Cheyenne Parker, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Lafayette Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.
Lafayette Christian will square off against Central Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lafayette Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday. Trinity Christian School of Griffin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
