Mt. Carmel had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 43-21 margin over the Westview Wolverines. The Sundevils haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Trevor Taumoepeau was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in one rushing score.
