The Arizona College Prep Knights will face off against the Mountain Pointe Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arizona College Prep's defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so Mountain Pointe's offense will have their work cut out for them.
On Thursday, Arizona College Prep didn't have too much trouble with Desert Mountain as they won 28-14. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arizona College Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Doyle, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two TDs. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 73 yards. Katelyn Dilworth also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, while Mountain Pointe put up some points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Maricopa. The Pride took their contest with ease, bagging a 28-0 victory over the Rams. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Pride just coasted through the last quarter.
A big part of Mountain Pointe's win came down to the chemistry between Ariana Acosta and her top target Amillia Mambru. Acosta threw for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Mambru picked up 105 receiving yards and two scores. That's the most receiving yards Mambru has posted since back in September.
Mountain Pointe didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Maricopa to a completion percentage of just 46.9%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Royal Walker and Mambru, who each logged two passes deflected. They're 1-3 when they limit the passing game like that.
Mountain Pointe's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Walker, Madison Goudy, and Madison House, who each picked up one sack apiece. Walker was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making five total tackles, and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Arizona College Prep's record now sits at 9-5. As for Mountain Pointe, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Arizona College Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain Pointe when the teams last played back in October, winning 17-7. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Pride have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
