Softball Recap: North Wins Going Away Against East Bakersfield

North won the last time they faced East Bakersfield and things went their way on Thursday too. The Stars put the hurt on the Blades with a sharp 15-3 victory. The Stars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaitlin Branson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Katherine Leask was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

North's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-8. As for East Bakersfield, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

North wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 22-1 victory against Mojave on the 25th. As for East Bakersfield, they will square off against West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blades are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
