South Summit proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the San Juan Broncos 4-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 6-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Emma Broadbent was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Bowen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
South Summit now has a winning record of 6-5. As for San Juan, their record is now 1-1.
Coming up, South Summit will square off against Grand County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Juan, they will take on Bear Lake in a tournament on Friday.
