The Blue River Valley Vikings struggled with offensive rebounds on Monday (the Tri Titans had 1300% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Blue River Valley had to suffer through a rough 54-26 loss at the hands of Tri. Blue River Valley has not had much luck with Tri recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Blue River Valley still got an impressive performance from Holly Polston, who scored 10 points.
Tri's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rylee Boyd, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Boyd has scored at least 25% of Tri's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenley Cornelius, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Blue River Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Tri, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Blue River Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Knightstown at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Knightstown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Saturday. As for Tri, they will head out on the road to face off against Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Randolph Southern is on a three-game streak of home wins, Tri a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
