Baseball Recap: Bedford Has No Trouble Against Concord

Bedford won against Bishop Guertin on Wednesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Concord Crimson Tide a 7-0 shutout. That looming 7-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

James Gilbert was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jayson Topf was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Bedford and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Concord, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bedford will take on rival Trinity at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Concord is set to challenge their familiar foe Nashua North at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
