Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pendleton Heights walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Greenfield-Central Cougars  a   45-0 shutout  on Friday. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Arabians this season.
It was another big night for  Brandt Gray, who threw for 157 yards and two  TDs on perfect 9-for-9 passing, and also punched in one  score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  passer rating (177.1).  Joel Weaver was another key player, rushing for 71 yards and one  touchdown.
 Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of  Talan Foster, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Pendleton Heights pushed their record up to 10-1 with the  win, which was their ninth straight  at home dating back to last season. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.6 points on average over those games. As for Greenfield-Central,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 6-5 record.
 Looking ahead, Pendleton Heights will be playing in front of their home fans against Yorktown  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 11.2  points per game  this season, so the Arabians' offense will have their work cut out for them. Greenfield-Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
