The Lyndhurst Golden Bears''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Newton by a score of 33-30.
Anthony Pizzuti and Shawn Bellenger certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Pizzuti picked up 174 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Bellenger threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt.
Lyndhurst's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Newton, Park Ridge, and Rutherford. As for Newton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Lyndhurst does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Newton will head out on the road to face off against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westwood is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
