Santa Fe and Texas City are an even 2-2-6 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long. The Santa Fe Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Texas City Stingarees at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Santa Fe's last nine contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Saturday, Santa Fe's game was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They skirted past Friendswood 3-2. Three seems to be a good number for Santa Fe as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
While Texas City's fans didn't get a definitive result on Tuesday, they were treated to the team's highest-scoring tie of the season. Neither they nor Friendswood could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
Texas City avoided a loss thanks to
Oscar Dominguez and
David Teniente, who posted both of Texas City's goals. The pair have combined for a total of eight so far this season.
The win got Santa Fe back to even at 4-4-3. Texas City's draw gives them a new season record of 4-4-7.
