Basketball Recap: Wilmington Christian Academy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Wilmington Christian Academy entered their tilt with Liberty Christian Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Liberty Christian Academy Heat by a score of 61-52. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-36 last Monday.

Wilmington Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trent Davies out in front who went 7 for 13 en route to 20 points along with six assists and six steals. Davies is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 20 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Mattox, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

Despite the loss, Liberty Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Deon Whitner Jr, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Nyambane, who posted six points and five boards.

Wilmington Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Wilmington Christian Academy will square off against Living Water Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Living Water Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Wilmington Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Liberty Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
