The Highland Huskies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Frontier Academy 89-49 at home. The victory was nothing new for Highland as they're now sitting on four straight.
Highland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Steinke, who scored 21 points. Steinke continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Sawyer Morgan was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 14 rebounds and eight assists.
Despite the loss, Frontier Academy still got an impressive performance from Jackson Steward, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 34.7% of Frontier Academy's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Carmichael, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Highland's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for Frontier Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Highland will head out on the road to challenge Timnath at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Timnath will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Highland is ranked 73rd). As for Frontier Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wellington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellington comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
