Last Friday, Marion-Franklin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-50 to Briggs. That's two games in a row now that Marion-Franklin has lost by exactly five points.
Meanwhile, Mifflin scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Columbus International for the full four quarters, racking up a 86-45 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-23.
Tariq Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight steals. John Glover was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten assists and five rebounds.
Marion-Franklin dropped their record down to 8-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Mifflin, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-13.
Marion-Franklin came up short against Mifflin in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 47-39. Can Marion-Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
