After soaring high against Vinton-Shellsburg last Friday, Icarus fell to the ground on Friday. Alburnett took a 8-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Highland. Alburnett are ranked 79th in the state (135 spots ahead of Highland), so the loss was all the more frustrating.
The defeat dropped Alburnett's record to 1-0. The win bumped Highland's record up to 1-0.
Next week, Alburnett take on North Linn at 7:30 PM. As for Highland, they will face off against Lynnville-Sully.
