Fishers is 6-0 against Franklin Central since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fishers Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Franklin Central Flashes at 7:30 p.m. Fishers will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Fishers faced Lawrence North in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fishers secured a 63-57 W over Lawrence North. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Talia Harris and Kya Hurt. Harris had a great game and scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Meanwhile, Hurt was balling out in the loss, scoring 21 points.
Franklin Central posted their biggest win since November 9, 2023 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southport 62-26 on the road. Given Franklin Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Southport is ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fishers is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Franklin Central, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Everything came up roses for Fishers against Franklin Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fishers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
