They suffered a tough 57-32 loss at the hands of Bennett. Colorado Springs Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-9.
Colorado Springs Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeremiah Schmidt, who scored 12 points, and Jace Velasquez who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Mikey Orawiec, who scored three points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bennett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Stiers, who scored 16 points. Stiers set a new season high mark in points with 16. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Stiers, who scored 15 points.
Colorado Springs Christian bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bennett, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-3.
Colorado Springs Christian will take on Fowler at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Fowler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. Bennett will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
