There's no place like home for Wake Prep Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Pamlico County Hurricanes 54-8 on Friday. The Guardians not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 13, 2024 (when they won 54-0).

Austin Battle threw for 137 yards and four TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes. Justin Battle was his top target, picking up 76 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Landon Roberts rushed for 162 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Wake Prep Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pamlico County, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wake Prep Academy will venture away from home to face off against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 884 yards in their previous games. As for Pamlico County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southeast Collegiate Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
