The Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 34-30 W over Founders Classical Academy on Saturday. Annapolis Christian Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Annapolis Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Genesis Lopez, who scored eight points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Kenzie Stice was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Founders Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jade Reynolds, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Reynolds is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Hammond, who scored six points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Founders Classical Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Annapolis Christian Academy only pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Annapolis Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Founders Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Annapolis Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Bloomington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bloomington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Friday. Founders Classical Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Annapolis Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024.
