After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grayslake Central, the Antioch Sequoits were happy to have found some success on Friday. They managed a 51-45 win over Grayslake North. Given Antioch's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Grayslake North is ranked 567th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Antioch found their leader in underclassman Heidi Rathmann, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Layla Kane, who scored eight points.
Antioch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Grayslake North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-20.
Antioch will be playing at home against Wauconda at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grayslake North, they will head out on the road to challenge Round Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
