Grand Canyon suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Saturday. They were outmatched by El Capitan/Centennial Academy on the road and fell 55-28. Grand Canyon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jaemie Jensen, who scored ten points along with six steals and three blocks. Jensen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Greyhills Academy, who are still winless after their 17th match. They took a serious blow against Pinon on Tuesday, falling 96-9. Greyhills Academy has struggled against Pinon recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Grand Canyon has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Greyhills Academy, their loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-17.
Everything came up roses for Grand Canyon against Greyhills Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 47-6 victory. With Grand Canyon ahead 23-1 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
