Basketball Recap: Dunbar Falls Despite Big Games from Brayant Corona and Kristian Joseph

Dunbar fought the good fight in their overtime game against Fort Myers on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Fort Myers Green Wave 63-58. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Dunbar's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kristian Joseph, who posted 17 points and three blocks, and Brayant Corona, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 17 points and seven boards. The match was Corona's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Chris Balloon also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Tommy Halgrim continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fort Myers, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 18 rebounds. With that strong performance, Halgrim is now averaging an impressive 18.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Vinny Carbonara, who earned 13 points and seven boards.

Dunbar's record is now 7-10. As for Fort Myers, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Dunbar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-68 victory against South Fort Myers on the 13th. Fort Myers has also already played their next match, a 70-48 defeat against Lehigh on the 13th.
