The Morehead Panthers will take on the Bethany Community Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morehead will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Morehead barely beat Reidsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Zachary Grogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Sands, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Judson Friese was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Morehead kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bethany Community was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern Guilford on Thursday, taking the game 8-3.
Like Morehead, Bethany Community also got a great game from a two-way player: Christopher 'Noah' Carter. He pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Carter also tossed no walks, which is notable because Bethany Community is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise. Carter was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
Bethany Community's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Morehead, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Morehead hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Bethany Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Morehead skirted past Bethany Community 8-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
