The Trenton Trojans waltzed into Tuesday's match with four straight wins but they left with five. They escaped with a win against Carlson by the margin of a single free throw, 65-64. Trenton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Carlson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brody Lavis, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Lavis scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Austin Saavedra, who scored nine points along with five assists and four blocks.
Even though they lost, Carlson were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Trenton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Carlson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Trenton will head out on the road to face off against Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Taylor and Trenton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Carlson will be home for the holidays to greet Edsel Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
