The Glendale Prep Academy Griffins will challenge the North Valley Christian Academy Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Glendale Prep Academy will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Glendale Prep Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mountainside on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-1 win. Considering the Griffins have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jack Martin and Eran Maxson made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Martin tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Maxson struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). At the plate, Martin scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Maxson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Martin has posted since back in April of 2024.

Glendale Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountainside only posted an OBP of .357.
Meanwhile, North Valley Christian Academy never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past Highland Prep West 17-0.
Like Glendale Prep Academy, North Valley Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Duvuagn Pryce. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Pryce also tossed no walks, which is notable because North Valley Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-12-1 otherwise. Pryce was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Levi Corrigan was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for North Valley Christian Academy: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11-1 otherwise. Noah Jones was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
North Valley Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-13-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Glendale Prep Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Glendale Prep Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. However, it's not like North Valley Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Glendale Prep Academy suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to North Valley Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Griffins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
