Eastern has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Trimble Tomcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Eastern was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 70-64 to Nelsonville-York. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eastern in their matchups with Nelsonville-York: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Trimble got the win against Southern on Friday by a conclusive 59-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Trimble.
Eastern's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Trimble, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Eastern was taken down by Trimble 72-36 in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Can Eastern avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
