The Southeast of Saline Trojans were the 56-42 winner over the Beloit Trojans when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. Southeast of Saline fell to Beloit 44-40. Southeast of Saline found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 11 to 3 on offense.
Southeast of Saline's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Caselman, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Gannon Jacobson, who scored 9 points.
Beloit was led to victory by Eli Johnson and Bryce Beisner. Johnson dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Beisner dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Beisner has scored at least 25% of Beloit's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Gerstner, who scored 7 points.
Southeast of Saline now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Beloit, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Southeast of Saline will head out on the road to face off against Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Abilene knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Southeast of Saline likes a good challenge. As for Beloit, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Republic County at 7:00 p.m.
