Tariq Barber Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Pamlico County's Tariq Barber, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Barber rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards.

Sincere Columbus Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sincere Columbus produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Northside - Pinetown to the win on Friday. Columbus' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 139 rushing yards dating back to last season. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run.
The win was the fourth in a row for Northside - Pinetown, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Columbus and Northside - Pinetown will head out on the road to face off against East Carteret at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Connor Shea's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lejeune over East Carteret
Lejeune was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Connor Shea did his best to prevent it. Shea was unstoppable, throwing for 312 yards and four touchdowns.
Shea must have East Carteret's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Shea last faced the Mariners back in October of 2023, he threw for 497 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score.
