The Clarkston Angoras had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Cross Keys 57-13 at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Clarkston also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Clarkston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jessica Mays led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mays has scored at least 25% of Clarkston's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arriana Blackwell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Clarkston's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Cross Keys, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarkston will challenge Westminster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Westminster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clarkston in Georgia (Westminster is ranked 59th, while Clarkston is ranked 331st). Cross Keys is on the road again on Friday and play against Howard at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st.
