The result was an unpleasant reminder to Southside Christian of the 58-51 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Southside Christian still got an impressive performance from Luke Boush, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 48% of Southside Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Evans, who scored 13 points along with three blocks.
Southside Christian dropped their record down to 7-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside Christian will face off against Liberty Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Liberty Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Living Water Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Living Water Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilmington Christian Academy in North Carolina (Living Water Christian is ranked 266th, while Wilmington Christian Academy is ranked 642nd).
