Winnetonka will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Raytown South at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Winnetonka had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past Benton with a 34-28 win.
Meanwhile, Raytown South had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-35 punch to the gut against Fort Osage last Friday. Raytown South were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
Winnetonka's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Raytown South's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Winnetonka can add another positive mark to their record or if Raytown South can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Winnetonka's step.
