The Bishop Canevin Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Serra Catholic by a score of 87-78. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Serra Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pete Burke, who scored 26 points. Burke hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Owen Dumbroski was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Bishop Canevin and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for Serra Catholic, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.
Bishop Canevin will take on Winchester Thurston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Serra Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against Leechburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Serra Catholic is facing Leechburg at the right time seeing as Leechburg is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
