Even though the Yukon Millers have not done well against the Norman Tigers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Yukon had just enough and edged Norman out 41-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Yukon.
When it comes to explaining why Norman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keeley Parks. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Parks is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Ady Hybl was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Yukon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Norman, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Yukon will be playing at home against Putnam City West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Putnam City West presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Yukon in Oklahoma (Putnam City West is ranked second, while Yukon is ranked 51st). As for Norman, they will head out on the road to take on Edmond Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
