Last Sunday, Monsignor Scanlan was fully in charge, breezing past Mt. Zion Prep Academy 70-42 on the road. Given Monsignor Scanlan's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked first in New York, while Mt. Zion Prep Academy is ranked 60th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman entered their tilt with Desert Oasis with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bishop Gorman blew past Desert Oasis 67-18 on the road.
Bishop Gorman found their leader in underclassman Aaliah Spaight, who scored 27 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Addysen Carr, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Monsignor Scanlan's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bishop Gorman, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-0.
