The Forsyth Home Educators Hawks will square off against the Oak Level Baptist Academy Conquerors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Forsyth Home Educators proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Union Grove Christian 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since March 5, 2024.

Abigail Smith made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, Isabel Martinez looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low.
Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Evans, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Rebecca Cheek also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but last Friday Oak Level Baptist Academy sidestepped Forsyth Home Educators for a 3-2 victory.
Like Forsyth Home Educators, Oak Level Baptist Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Haley Inman. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Inman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Cassidy Inman was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Forsyth Home Educators pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Level Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That lines up perfectly with their 4-1-1 record this season.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Forsyth Home Educators hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Oak Level Baptist Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .318.
