The Hershey Panthers struggled with assists on Thursday (the Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hershey took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves.
Hershey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emma Hall, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Hall has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haily Miller, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Maywood/Hayes Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kesli Cox, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blayklee Farr, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Hershey's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Hershey will take on the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grand Island Central Catholic will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hitchcock County is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
