After flying high against the Kaycee Buckaroos on Saturday, the Encampment Tigers came back down to earth. Encampment was dealt a 67-30 defeat at the hands of Lingle-Fort Laramie on Saturday. Encampment has not had much luck with Lingle-Fort Laramie recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Lingle-Fort Laramie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordynn Speckner out in front who scored 19 points along with seven steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Skyla Wunder, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Encampment bumped their record down to 5-3 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Encampment does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lingle-Fort Laramie and Sundance will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
