The Frontier Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Trinity Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Frontier focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday.
Last Monday, Frontier was able to grind out a solid win over Valley, taking the game 55-43. The victory was all the more spectacular given Frontier's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 219th in Ohio, while Valley is ranked 86th in West Virginia).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frontier to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Knowlton, who scored 25 points along with four steals. Kelsey Dye was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian came tearing into Wednesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 victory over Frankfort.
Frontier's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Frontier took their win against Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 59-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frontier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
