The Naples Classical Academy are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Oasis Sharks at 9:45 a.m. on December 20th. Naples Classical knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Oasis likes a good challenge.
Naples Classical pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 84-57 loss at the hands of Donahue Catholic. Naples Classical was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-30.
Meanwhile, Oasis entered their tilt with Ida Baker with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Oasis claimed a resounding 81-41 win over Ida Baker on the road. With Oasis ahead 40-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Brendan Overbaugh was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Javarius Jackson, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Naples Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Oasis, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
