Basketball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy Skates Past South Bend Career Academy with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bremen, Elkhart Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the South Bend Career Academy Trailblazers, posting a 62-15 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Elkhart Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ivy Clapsaddle out in front who went 8 for 15 to rack up 18 points and four steals. Clapsaddle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyla Yordy, who posted eight points along with five assists and five steals.

Despite the defeat, South Bend Career Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Muliyah Kelley scored nine points.

Elkhart Christian Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.6 points over those games. As for South Bend Career Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Elkhart Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-14 victory against Trinity Greenlawn on the 4th. As for South Bend Career Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 58-18 loss against Knox on the 7th.
