Trenton extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 6 this week by beating P.K. Yonge, 54-28. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Hilliard took down Bronson 54-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Josh Conner ran for 236 yards in the win.
Gunner Chaires put up the best numbers through the air as the Red Flashes bested the Eagles. He finished with a total of one completions for 45 yards and one touchdown. Chaires' favorite target this week was Warren Vining, who caught one pass for 45 yards.
Hamp Cheevers was the best wideout in the league this week as Trenton defeated the Blue Wave. Cheevers tallied two receptions for 56 yards. Nic Higginbotham helped Trenton's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
Andrew Thomas' team's Stephen Smith and Cheevers have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 515 yards this season, while Cheevers, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has seven catches for 256 yards. Conner from Hilliard leads the league in rushing with 1332 yards.
The top two teams in 1A District 6 will face off this week when first place Trenton takes on second place Hilliard. The Tigers bested P.K. Yonge last week, while Paul Whittenburg's team beat Bronson.
