The Horizon Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Ocoee Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Ocoee's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Horizon came out on top against West Orange on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Hawks were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Hawks have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Reid Patton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Denver Patton tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Nico Loaiza, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Michael Singer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Ocoee sidestepped Innovation for a 2-1 win.
Ocoee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Mojica, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Ocoee is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Horizon, their record now sits at 12-7-1.
Horizon couldn't quite finish off Ocoee in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 and fell 3-1. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
