The Concordia Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Phillipsburg Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concordia will be strutting in after a win while Phillipsburg will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Chapman scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Concordia still came out on top. Concordia snuck past Chapman with a 60-56 victory. The win was just what Concordia needed coming off of a 61-32 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Phillipsburg had to settle for a 51-49 defeat against Thomas More Prep-Marian on Friday. Phillipsburg has not had much luck with Thomas More Prep-Marian recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Phillipsburg might have lost, but man, Rad Rodriguez was a machine: he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rhett Shelton, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Concordia now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Phillipsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Concordia took their win against Phillipsburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 70-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Concordia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
